LCMHC SUPERVISION SESSION
Life throws many surprises at us, and while we cannot predict the outcome of any situation, we can take control of how we respond to certain situations. Through our sessions, you’ll learn about acceptance and how to exert your power of choice over whatever life may throw at you.
Supervision will be a place to define and refine counseling skills in order to best serve clients and become a competent practitioner. I most identify with the Integrated Development Model of supervision. Through this model, the supervisee’s journey takes on beginner, intermediate and advanced levels of growth. As the supervisee advances, the supervisor takes on the roles of a teacher with direct instruction, a counselor while addressing supervisee “blind spots” like dual relationships, transference and counter-transference and a consultant in possible co-therapy roles as the supervisee becomes more autonomous. The supervisor will serve as a protector of the well-being of not only the supervisee, but also the clients seen by the supervisee. Other supervisor goals are to provide professional guidance and support so that supervisees can reach their full potential.
Goals for the supervisee include: an increase in knowledge of the counseling profession, better counseling skills and competence while being able to face the challenges of a variety of cases. Modalities of review can include audio/video recordings, transcripts, and live observation which will be used by the supervisor to provide feedback and complete skill assessments.
Supervisees will bring program expectations with deadlines and forms to the initial sessions with supervisor so that timelines can be created. Supervision will take place face to face for one hour per week. To terminate supervision prior to completion of program requirements, provide at least two week notification, so that paperwork can be completed and submitted. If you are unable to attend a supervision session, please call to reschedule as soon as possible. Professional and ethical conduct is expected.
Fees are payable by cash or cashapp.
Individual Supervision $75/hour
Group Supervision (2 supervisees) $50/person/hour
